Mike White

Mike is a decorated Vietnam veteran who retired as Captain just three years after being drafted. After returning from the war, he earned his B.A. in English and began working for the United States Veteran’s Administration. He retired in 2004.

Mike’s experience on Town Council and the Planning Commission has shown him the need for balance on the island: to keep our community young, vibrant and beautiful, the island needs to value both affordability and increasing property values.

He lives in town with his wife, Lee, who has been active in the Community Theatre. Both Mike and Lee have been involved for many years with the Central Baptist Church. Recently he retired from the church’s Board of Trustees. He especially enjoys time spent with his two granddaughters, who also live on the island with his son Jeremy and wife.

Bob Bowen

Bob has lived in Southern RI since 1975. He earned a degree in Environmental Chemistry from URI in 1978. Currently he works at URI for the Coastal Resources Center, which focuses on sustainable coastal development. Bob has worked in Asia, Africa and South America.

He believes the role of government is to foster stewardship of our resources and to consider what we leave for the next generations. He moved to Jamestown in 1999 and shortly afterwards became interested in local issues, especially waterfront uses. He has volunteered on the Jamestown Harbor Management Commission for 5 years. He also has worked on an ad-hoc committee in 2005-2006 that delved into the potential of wind energy as a source of power and income for the town. Bill Murphy

Bill is experienced and dedicated to improving the island. He sees the need to update town ordinances; then finish ongoing projects and seek State and Federal funds to pay for them. Priorities include upgrading the sidewalks along Narragansett Avenue, building an addition to the Jamestown Community Center for the Recreation Department, and putting forward the "in-law" ordinance to help Jamestowners.

Bill brings to the council experience with government: he is a past State Representative and former Jamestown Town Councilman. He enlisted in the US Army, served twenty years and retired as a Major. He has owned and run three small businesses.

Bill has volunteered for many groups on the island, such as the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Department, Jamestown Lions Club, St. Mark Knights of Columbus, the American Legion, Jamestown Affordable Housing Committee, Jamestown Emergency Medical Service Association, Jamestown Community Theater, and Jamestown Shores Association.

Mike Schnack

Mike gained his fine grasp of town issues while serving on the Planning Commission and the Town Council. Further, his clear-sighted strength of asking relevant questions ensure pragmatic solutions can be found.

During his previous term on the Council, the town built the new town hall, resolved the highway barn issue and began buying lots in the Shores to protect the watershed -- all accomplished without a major tax increase.

Mike works as Director of Labor Relations for the leading water services company in North America. There he is responsible for all of the company’s labor relations across the country. He earned his B.A. from Providence College and his M.B.A. from URI.

He lives on Clarke Street with his wife Colleen and two children, Michael and Caty. Both attend North Kingstown High School.
